PSMULTI && PSFIX ---------------- PSMULTI is a general n-up postscript filter. This is a replacement for multips originally started to solve a bug in using multips on Sparc printers. PSmulti requires PERL, if there is sufficient demand for a c/sh version and I find enough time and will add this as an alternative front-end later. PSFIX is a filter to adjust the scaling and orientation of images while keeping them in the normal printable area of a page. Both are capable of page selection from DSC conformant documents, and some less conformant ones. The output of psmulti however is not strictly conformant but contains enough hints for most previewers to identify the page breaks. Both also provide a facility to add special borders to documents. This is a facility that we have found useful in preparing posters and the like. It is possible to feed pipe PSmulti to itself just in case you wandered! I have only tested this on sun/unix platform, with the NEC SilentWriter and Sun SPARCPrinter, so be warned! TO INSTALL ---------- There is a perl script - Install Edit the variables declarations at the top BINDIR - where you want the executable to be put. LIBDIR - where you want all the psmulti library files put. MANDIR - where you want the man pages installed PERLEXE - the execution path for PERL Now run the script, and that should be it! Acknowledgements ---------------- TO DO ----- . A FiloFax/MiniFax format . Further Development of the pspp utilities . Utility for `pspp` to compress the size of PS files (esp. to filter out unessential comments).
