PROGRAM bricons (version 3.0 using Motif widget set version 1.1) PLEASE NOTE This version of the bricons program can display colour icons or pixmaps. However it needs version 3.2 of the xpm libraries written by Arnaud Le Hors. This can be obtained by anonymous ftp to: export.lcs.mit.edu. The source code is found in /contrib/xpm directory. DESCRIPTION The bricons program allows the user to start up applications from a configured command panel on a workstation display running X. The bricons interface can consist of up to twenty buttons which can display some text, icon or colour pixmap. Each button is used to execute a shell command using the Bourne shell. Each button can be configured to display a single spring loaded popup menu with up to ten more buttons. COMPILATION Assuming a good X installation at your site, simply: xmkmf ; make Otherwise use the Makefile.std provided. CONFIGURATION Once the bricons program has been successfully compiled. Add the following environment variable: setenv XBMLANGPATH `pwd`/bitmaps/%B It can then be executed and should display some example buttons one of which is a sub menu. The bricons program looks for a .briconsrc configuration file in the current directory.
